Yep, Pre-searing takes the cookie, especially the secret garden above, the village next to Ashford, the Gargoyle-infested part of the Catacombs, and beyond the Wall.
In post-searing, my favourite was always the Tengu plain north of LA, since it was open, well designed, and the only thing that made you stay on the road was like half of the Caromi clan, not the invisible walls. Then they had to go on and place a giant RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing turtle on top of it
There is also a place in the northern Snake Dance where you have an awesome view on a path through the forest way below you, I think the path itself is unused.
Sorrow's Furnace is great as well, especially that deep canyon with bridges above it. I also like the final three Tombs maps and all the Guild Halls.
I guess I would find Maguuma beautiful if it wasn't the worst area of the game mob-wise. Crystal Desert, Ring of Fire and Post-Searing Ascalon mostly make me want to get the hell out of there, fast.
